As the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, marking our longest day of the year, I invite you to join Karen Cappa and I for a day of pause, practice, and profound renewal.
Following our recent exploration into the Science of Yoga, we know that our practice does more than just stretch our muscles—it actively fine-tunes our nervous systems and nourishes our brain health. This retreat is designed to take that “internal hum” and expand it under the wide, open canopy of the solstice sky.

Accessible only by boat, the secluded village of Yelapa feels like a step back in time. It provides a true escape from modern distractions and invites you to embrace a simpler way of living. Every activity here helps ground you in nature—whether you are strolling along the shoreline, exploring the local village, wading across the lagoon, or trekking up-river to swim in hidden waterfalls.

First night stay at a hotel in Old Vallarta near the boat taxi in Puerto Vallarta
6 nights at Pura Vida Retreat
Transfer of bags to our boat in PV on the first Sunday
Water taxi boat trip with group to Yelapa on Sunday morning
Transfer of your bags to your rooms once in Yelapa

Gratuity for the Pura Vida Staff, recommended amount: $100/person
Those who wish to arrive in Yelapa separate from group will need to pay for their own water taxi (about $25 round trip/person)

Massages will be available at Pura Vida; Sign-ups will occur once we arrive.
Optional all-day trip into back country, snorkeling trips, sweat lodge and more can be arranged upon arrival.
Pura Vida Retreat is a place to recharge, replenish and tap into the pure energy of the vibrant jungle and ocean that surround us.
2027 Lodging/Pricing Options:
Most rooms are open air and have at least a partial ocean view. (see description of bed
sizes below):
• Double occupancy: $1875/person USD
• Single occupancy: $2285/person USD
• Triple occupancy: $1760/ person USD (only one room available)
Couples sharing a bed: please note that the “queen beds” at Pura Vida are more like a
double mattress at home, so make sure you are happy snuggling!
VERY IMPORTANT-The property at Pura Vida is set on a hillside with approximately 110 steps from the entrance to the dining area to the top of the property. Also, there are some modest hills in town and on the river hike. There are no railings in some spots, it is essential that you have no foot/ankle/knee/ or hip issues.

Refund-if paid in full ($1,875 double, $2,285 single or $1,760 triple), minus $350 deposit, or refund of $1,525 for double occupancy, $1,935 for single occupancy, $1,410
for triple.
After December 1st-February 1st-
Refund-Single occupancy – if paid in full: $2,285 minus $750 = refund of $1,535.
Double occupancy- if paid in full: $1,875 minus $750 = refund of $1,125.
Triple occupancy- if paid in full: $1,760 minus $750 = refund of $1010.
After February 1st:
No refund unless:
1) the retreat is full, and
2) someone fills your spot
– minus $100 admin fee
(potential refund of $2,185, $1,775, or $1,660 respectively for single, double or triple
occupancy, only if your spot fills).
Sending in your deposit assumes you have read and understand the refund policy.
Once you are registered, additional information will be sent out well ahead of time for you to plan all the details of your trip!
If you want to start looking at airfares once you are registered, We recommend that you arrive in Puerta Vallarta on Saturday afternoon, March 21st, 2027, and depart from PV on Saturday mid-afternoon, March 27th , 2027. This will allow you to have adequate time for cabs and water taxis and such.
